The Quick Series of Windows software consists of stand-alone manual-entry handicapping utilities. None of the Quick Series is a full-fledged handicapping program--they should be considered as building blocks. You may use the building block to construct your own flexible handicapping methods. You may think of the Quick Series as "working demos". We have seen advertisements in the Daily Racing Form for similar programs priced above $100. The average selling price for Quick programs will always be under $25.
Quick Pace is a Windows program that allows you to enter one pace line for a single horse. After entering the pace line data, this program calculates and displays the feet-per-second velocities for each call. In addition, several compounded velocity figures are displayed. (If you have purchased Tom Brohamer's excellent Modern Pace Handicapping, this program calculates all of the feet-per-second figures in the book). Among the other FPS figures, this program figures Turn Time. (We know of at least one advertisement for a $200 program that does basically the same thing...) This program is an excellent aid to anyone studying pace handicapping, or for anyone developing a pace-based approach to handicapping. Quick Pace is now available for DOS as well as Windows.
Quick Class is a very simple Windows program. You type in the DRF Money Box figures for each horse, and it displays: Average Earnings Per Start, In-the-Money percentage, Average Purse, and Average Purse Value. In addition, Quick Class will calculate and display a user-defined Class Factor based upon your weighting of the above factors. You only need to define your user formula once; you can save it to disk and you formula will be loaded automatically, thereafter. Quick Class will also optionally average two years of Money Box statistics for you.
