Win Parse is a utility for users of BRIS' WIN file. Many users of this file in conjunction with commercial programs may also wish to load the data into spreadsheets or databases for additional analysis. The problem is that most database and spreadsheet packages limit the amount of data that can be loaded. dBase, for example, permits 128 fields, and even FoxPro only allows 255. Excel cannot load and entire card. The WIN file has nearly 1,000 fields.
Win Parse solves this by allowing you to create your own data dictionary-- a subset of the data provided in the WIN file. Win Parse then creates a comma-delimited file containing only the fields that you have specified. You can create innumerable data dictionaries, which can be re-loaded from disk and re-used.
Win Parse can even be used to generate Format III or Format IV reports from WIN files.
DRF Parse is similar to Win Parse, but is used with the DRF single (format B) file.
